Topton Ambulance hired BEI for land development
services for a new ambulance dispatch facility in Longswamp Township.
The site presented several challenges due to the topography, shallow
depth to seasonal high water table and the location of the site in a
High Quality (HQ) watershed. BEI was able to provide a site design
to meet all the necessary requirements of Longswamp Township, Berks
County Conservation District and DEP. The design made use of
several Best Management Practices (BMP's), including vegetated swales,
pervious pavement, additional tree planting, soil restoration, surface
ponding/infiltration areas and rain gardens.
