The parking lot at Trexler Mansion was in a deteriorated state due to its many years of use. A parking lot redesign was provided. The size and location of the site made it an excellent spot to demonstrate the use of porous paving. This technique allows water to flow through the concrete aggregate mixture into the soil below, therefore reducing the City’s stormwater infrastructure. This ‘green’ method promotes healthy tree growth, reduces the heat island effect, and traffic noise levels.
